Hi, I'm Mr. Cunningham, and I'm looking forward to the 2008-2009 school year, as the new Media Productions teacher at Sandra Day O'connor High School.

Media Productions Classwork

Week of August 11th, 2008:

* Classes obtained syllabuses, class expectations and Student Rights & Responsibilities handbooks.

* Classes were assigned a personality profile packet that helps students define their particular personalities.

* Classes were assigned a "what job's right for me" packet that helps students match their personality with suitable job for the personality trait.

* Classes were given a demonstration and instructed on the basic uses of Windows Movie Maker

* Classes were assigned a 2min video slideshow project.

* Classes were given computer lab time to work on their projects.

WEEK OF AUG 18TH:

* Classes continue to work on their 2min video slideshow that is due on Aug. 20th.

* Classes discussed what jobs they know of in the field of Radio/Television Broadcasting.

* Classes were given a job search assignment and given computer time to complete it, due Friday Aug. 22.

WEEK OF AUG 25TH:

*Classes presented their 2min slideshow for viewing in class.

*Classes were assigned key industry postions to define, such as Director, Producer, Audio Engineer, etc.. Click here for the assignment mp3

*Classes were given in class time to research their given terms and to find living examples of individuals who locally hold these positions.

WEEK OF SEPT. 1ST:

* Students viewed Stop Motion Videos

* Classes were placed in groups and were assigned a 2min stop motion video project.

WEEK OF SEPT. 8TH:

* Students began working on their 2 min stop-motion movie/video in groups of 4.

WEEK OF SEPT. 15TH:

* Students will present their completed videos to the class.

WEEK OF SEPT. 22ND:

* All groups that created 2 min stop motion videos disbanded and are required to video edit from their 2 min video and individually produce a :30 sec. commercial from the media that was created/collected while they were in a group. Due Tue. at the end of class.

WEEK OF SEPT. 29TH:

* Students are covering information on media storage media storage study guide, industry positions and simple video editing for a midterm test to be given Oct. 8-10.

WEEK OF NOV. 3RD:

Students began Pre-Prodcution on a 1:30min Docuementary on the following topic : "One Form of Communication that is used in a Work Environment."

WEEK OF NOV. 10TH:

* Students took notes as we covered the 15 elements of composition

WEEK OF NOV.17TH:

* Students began production of their documentary.

WEEK OF NOV. 24:

* Students have their documentaries enter into post production.

WEEK OF DEC 1st:

* Documentaries are due DEC 8th
